Bill Brady
Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady this morning gave incumbent Gov. Pat Quinn a couple of knocks over his handling of the McCormick Place imbroglio.

"Pat Quinn needs to stand up for jobs instead of standing in the way of reform for McCormick Place," says Brady.

The South Side convention center has been losing big convention clients at a rapid clip this year. A bill calling for widespread changes in the way the facility is managed awaits Quinn's signature

But some provisions in the law aren't popular with unions that have backed Quinn and represent McCormick Place workers.

"This is a prime opportunity to be on the side of growth and to make a clean break from the insider politics of Illinois," the Brady release says. Quinn "is failing the people of the Pullman neighborhood who want jobs and opportunity in their community. Let's hope he gets this one right. Governor Quinn should sign the reform bill today."
