Barack ObamaFor those of you who think President Barack Obama hasn't spent enough time in Chicago since he went to the White House, don't despair.
Word is that the president's team is already ramping up a re-election campaign, and an early prediction is that it will be headquartered in Chicago with many of the usual Windy City suspects.
Our friends at Politico got the scoop. From Mike Allen:
"Top sources say they will be surprised if the headquarters is not in Chicago, which will always hold a certain magic for the president and first lady Michelle Obama. ...
"However, some top advisers are skeptical that running the campaign from Chicago would have the same advantages that it did last time, since face-to-face contact will be necessary between top officials from the different arms of Obama's operation."
Allen also has a rundown of the folks who would run this campaign.
David Axelrod may rejoin his family in Chicago for a while, and David Plouffe, Anita Dunn and other well-known advisers to Obama are likely to continue their influence during the his second run for the world's most powerful office.
