Jesse Jackson Jr. camp silent on federal investigation

Federal subpoenas have already been sent out. Witnesses with ties to U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. have been interviewed. Recently, Jackson’s attorneys met with federal prosecutors in an attempt to dissuade them from taking further steps against the congressman. By all accounts, the criminal investigation into Jackson’s finances is in an advanced stage of development. Since the story was first reported last week by the Chicago Sun-Times, however, neither Jackson, his attorneys, his publicly elected wife, his staff or his famous father have publicly commented.
