The Current is led by Editor and President Geoff Dougherty, a news industry thought leader with 18 years of journalism experience. In 2005, Geoff founded ChiTownDailyNews.org, a path-breaking nonprofit online news organization that won international acclaim for its work with digital media and citizen journalists. Prior to that, he was an investigative reporter at the Chicago Tribune and Miami Herald.
