Beavers: U.S Atty. Fitzgerald 'wild man' responsible for three suicides

Cook County Commissioner William Beavers on Friday pleaded not guilty to the federal tax evasion charges he’s facing and then blasted U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald as “a wild man on a train” and declared “somebody needs stop him.” Beavers accused Fitzgerald of driving three people he investigated to suicide.

Murders up over last year, Emanuel 'not happy with any of it'

Chicago aldermen eye tax on suburbanites who work in city

Chicago aldermen on Tuesday laughed off a proposal to install toll booths on Lake Shore Drive, but warmed to the concept of a 1 percent commuter tax because the $300 million-a-year levy would be imposed on suburbanites — not city residents.
