Andrzejewski Calls Burris Ruling a 'Blunt Reminder'

Hours after the U.S. Senate Ethics Committee formally admonished Illinois Democratic Sen. Roland Burris, Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Andrzejewski has jumped on the reprimand as a "blunt reminder" of the state's corrupt political culture.

"The news that Sen. Burris may not be technically in violation of the law is certainly not a reason to breathe a sigh of relief here in Illinois,” Andrzejewski said in a statement. “Instead it validates more than ever how this state is in dire need of reform." Read more...

Burris slapped by ethics committee

The Senate Ethics Committee today admonished Roland Burris for making "less than candid" statements when he was under questioning about how disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich came to appoint him to President Barack Obama's former Senate seat. 

With the letter, which amounts to a slap on the wrist, the committee closes its investigation of Burris.  Read more...
